Soft skills is not about code, but about people. It's everything that helps you work effectively in a team: communication, empathy, responsibility, and the ability to plan and adapt.
If technical knowledge (hard skills) can be checked by a test, then soft skills are manifested in every working day — in how you react to feedback, whether you can listen to the client and explain complex things in simple words.
Why communication is everything
Even if you are an introvert and work remotely, you still have to:
discuss tasks with the manager and designer;
write readable code so that colleagues understand your logic;
help newcomers understand the project;
explain to the customer why “doing it quickly” will not work.
Poor communication = misunderstandings, bugs and stress.
Good communication = trust, clear processes and a strong team.
Example: If you immediately clarify the requirements and offer solutions, and do not silently do "as you understand", you save dozens of hours of correspondence and corrections.

develop empathy — try to understand what your interlocutor wants.
